  • Searching the Catalogue
The Library Catalogue has a number of search options. Two key options are:

    Author and title

This is most useful for finding references from reading lists. You only need to put the first author's family name and the first significant word from the title in the search boxes.

    Keyword

This is best for subject searching. You can use the * symbol to truncate words so that you pick up various endings e.g. philosoph* will pick up philosophy, philosophical, philosophically. The Boolean operator AND is assumed between any two words e.g. genome mapping searches for genome AND mapping.

See Using the Catalogue for further information.
