    Vice-President Academics / Provost

    Rev. Dr. Charles Owiredu is the Provost and the Vice President (Academic Affairs) of the Regent University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Ph.D from the University of Durham, United Kingdom in 2004. He holds M.Phil from the University of Cape Coast, 2000 (Ghana) and B.A. (Hons) from the Christian University, Ghana (1989).

    He is the second ranking executive officer of the University. He reports directly to the President and the CEO and represents the Regent University in all respects in the President and CEO’s absence. He has been working closely with the Founder and the President of Regent-Ghana, Prof. E. Kingsley Larbi in various positions both in Central University-Ghana and the Regent-Ghana. He is also a member of the Council of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College, Ghana.

    Being the Vice President for academic affairs, he is responsible for all academic endeavours of the University, which includes; supervision of all academic units and programmes as well as a number of academic support and service units. Furthermore, he works closely with the President and the CEO of Regent-Ghana in the areas of academic strategic planning, establishment of academic policies and accreditation. He undertakes academic programmes development, academic units’ reviews and resources development for academic affairs in consultation with Deans, chairs and faculty representative.

    In addition, he advises on academic appointments, leads faculty development initiative and recommends to the President and the CEO on all faculty evaluation decision, including tenure and promotion. He also works closely with the executive team to achieve the established goals of the Regent-Ghana, within a framework of shared faculty governance.
